Project Description

Shoreline Permitting and Monitoring for Grant County PUD

To comply with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) requirements, Grant PUD (GPUD) opted to use GIS as the base platform for managing shoreline permitting and monitoring activities. To support this effort, Jeff developed a shoreline geodatabase model to manage shoreline permitting, map shoreline inventories, track and manage encroachment mitigations, and support shoreline inspections. In addition to the data model, Jeff developed an extension to ArcGIS Desktop called Shoreline Tracker. Shoreline Tracker is primarily a GIS based permit tracking application. Users can create and track the progress of permits through the review process. In addition, the application provides a toolset for mapping encroachments onto PUD property and tracking mitigation efforts with landowners to resolve encroachment issues.
